Welcome
Congratulations on starting your journey with us. I will help guide you through our coaching program so that you can reach your dreams.
My commitment to you is to help you in the best way possible utilising all my
training, experience, and knowledge. I view our commitment together as a treasured relationship, which I often put time and thought in to developing your growth outside our sessions. I ask you to do the same, by taking the outcomes of the sessions seriously and dedicating time before and after the session to prepare and process.
Ultimately, this is an investment in yourself, and I ask you to treat your development with respect and importance.
Please fill out the form to the best of your ability. If you are unsure of anything, we can talk about this at the first meeting.
Have fun with it. I can’t wait to get going. See you soon.
Your coach,
Cameron Norsworthy
A little bit about me:
I have been a junior British tennis player, coached numerous World Champions, leaders, and entrepreneurs, and I am active scientist being awarded the Outstanding Academic Achievement Prize for reports surrounding flow and performance.
Starting out as an international athlete, I experienced some of the world best
intensive training centres in America and UK. I went on to play three world
championships, reach the UK finals, and represent the UK in junior tennis before stopping due to injury.
Fascinated by optimal experience, I studied Sports Psychology at postgraduate level and focused on Flow within my PhD (University of Western Australia and PAHL Group), whilst publishing multiple academic articles on flow and optimal performance. I hold a range of post-graduate certifications in coaching and professional development domains and run the ICF ACTP accredited coach training program at the Flow Centre.
In business, I have been a successful entrepreneur for over 15 years, founding,
managing, and selling an UK adventure sports tour operator (Active Adventures Ltd) between 2004 and 2011. In 2013, In founded the Flow Centre to put flow in the public eye and offer a bridge between science and practice for performance psychology.
Contract
The coaching contract has been devised to manage expectations and lay down a
foundation for our coaching interactions. By filling out the below pre-coaching
questionnaire you give informed consent to the below:
Ground Rules
I practice by the BPS and ICF code of ethics, which, put simply, include the principles
of respect, competence, responsibility and integrity.
Sessions times vary depending on what is needed on the day and within the session.
They can last as short as 15 minutes and, in some cases, go for nearly two hours. I
ask that you clear the diary for approximately 90 minutes and give yourself time
before and after the session to reflect.
Contact is limited to agreed sessions only, unless otherwise agreed as part of a
retainer.
Cancellations incur full costs up to 1 week prior to session date. Lateness will reduce
the time of the session. If more than 15 minutes late the session will be cancelled
unless notified.
Boundaries & Expectations
All sessions are confidential, and confidentiality is always maintained. Any kept
records will not be shared with 3rd parties and stored in a private and secure office.
Sessions may include coaching, training, psychology, physical activity or therapy
combined or exclusively. Our focus will remain forward featured and performance
orientated towards your preferred goals.
You have the right to stop any session at any time. I encourage feedback, within or
outside the session. It is important we maintain an open relationship in which you
feel safe to voice how you feel the coaching relationship is going. I will reserve the
right to refer you to a specialist if I believe someone will be better suited to meet
your needs, or/and, your requests and aims fall outside my expertise.
Be prepared to talk about your opinions, beliefs, emotions and thoughts. My aim as
your coach is to maximise your performance, creativity, decision-making and
innovation, and not be your best friend. To this end, I will challenge you where I
consider it may help to facilitate your growth.
I use a range of styles to meet the aims of the session—from humanistic
methodologies to neuroscientific techniques—if you have preferred methods in
which you would like to focus on, please let me know.
You are expected to be accountable for commitments between sessions.
Clothing is often relaxed. Typically, we may meet in a park and go for short walks to
help manage states, so please come dressed in a manner that you can undergo light
exercise.
Liability Waiver
You may become emotional during or after sessions. This is ok, and, typically, an
important aspect of personal development. Dealing with emotions is an important
skill that I will help you with. I appreciate the trust is takes to display and explore
emotions with myself.
Some sessions may, with your consent, involve physical activity to help embed
change psychologically and physically.
